About the CNX-001 Exam

The CompTIA CloudNetX CNX-001 exam contains a maximum of 90 questions and allows 165 minutes for completion. Candidates may encounter multiple-choice and performance-based questions.

CompTIA recommends:

  • At least ten years of professional IT experience

  • At least five years in a network architect role

  • Practical experience with hybrid-cloud environments

  • Network+, Security+ and Cloud+ knowledge or equivalent experience

There are no mandatory prerequisite certifications. However, CNX-001 assumes that candidates can already design, secure and troubleshoot advanced enterprise networks.

The exam validates your ability to:

  • Design for availability and resilience

  • Implement Zero Trust and identity controls

Score and Pass Mark

CompTIA CloudNetX CNX-001 uses a pass-or-fail scoring system with no published scaled score.

Candidates do not receive a stated passing mark on a 100–900 scale. CompTIA does not publish the exact number or percentage of questions that must be answered correctly.

Practice-test percentages should therefore be used to measure improvement and domain readiness rather than predict an official examination result. Every domain should receive adequate preparation because a high score in one area may not compensate for major weaknesses elsewhere.

Candidates have 165 minutes to answer up to 90 questions. This provides an average of approximately one minute and fifty seconds per question. Performance-based questions may require considerably more time because they involve architecture, configuration and troubleshooting scenarios.

The course includes timed quizzes, hands-on scenarios and five full-length mock examinations to improve technical decision-making, accuracy and pacing.

The official certification is awarded only after passing the authorized CNX-001 examination. Candidates can schedule through the CompTIA Pearson VUE testing portal.
