The CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 examination is scored on a scale ranging from 100 to 900 points. Candidates must earn a minimum scaled score of 750 to pass the examination.
A score of 750 does not mean that candidates must answer exactly 83% of the questions correctly. CompTIA uses scaled scoring, and questions may carry different point values depending on their format, difficulty, and complexity.
Performance-based questions may involve several steps and may be scored differently from standard multiple-choice questions. Therefore, CompTIA does not publish a fixed formula showing the exact number of questions candidates must answer correctly.
